My book about Amish romance novels, Thrill of the Chaste: The Allure of Amish Romance Novels, is just out from the Johns Hopkins University Press. Thrill of the Chaste is available from the Johns Hopkins website, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other places. If your favorite bookseller isn't stocking it yet, ask! To see the front cover and get more information, go here.

Features and essays related to my book have appeared in the Los Angeles Review of Books and The Mennonite, and the Johns Hopkins University Press blog. The Christian Century, Sojourners, First Things, and Amish America will feature the book in coming months. An interview with me about Amish fiction is available here.

My essay about my son's field guide to fannies is now available on Babble. You can read my review of Joanna Brooks's memoir The Book of Mormon Girl on The Christian Century website.

A few pieces of mine have been anthologized recently:

My essay, “Compromise,” appears in the just-released Just Moms: Conveying Justice in an Unjust World, ed. Melanie Springer Mock and Rebekah D. Schneiter (Newburg, OR: Barclay Press, 2011). [Available at Amazon or barclaypress]
Another essay of mine, “One Mean Mennonite Mama,” will be reprinted in Michael Long’s anthology Christian Peace and Nonviolence: A Documentary History, released by Orbis Books in May 2011. [Get it at Amazon]

Also available is the 30th anniversary edition of Living More with Less [ADD LINK to the words “Living More with Less”, which I edited and which Herald Press published in November 2010. Living More with Less has received nice attention by Publishers Weekly recently, with this news item by Holly Rossi in PW's Religion Bookline newsletter.

Other related pieces include my CultureWatch essay, “Simple Living Becomes Sexy,” in the December 2010 issue of Sojourners, and a feature on living more with less in several Mennonite press outlets.

Also check out my blog post at Sojourners, “What Celebrities Can Teach Christians about Simple Living.” Also, in February I was interviewed about the new edition of Living More with Less on WITF radio’s Smart Talk program. You can still listen to the interview here.

An op-ed of mine about NaNoWriMo, “A Whole World of Novelers,” appeared in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on November 27, 2010.

My op-ed about laundry lines appeared in The Chicago Tribune on October 3, 2010.
